Book Green Tortuga

Green Tortuga is a thoughtfully put together vacation rental that will not disappoint you! Super clean, spacious, great for family and friends gathering around the kitchen island, dining table and open living room. The beds were comfortable. Wonderful outdoor areas to visit, play games, or nap. Several sandy and shell-rich beaches are just a short golf cart ride away. It exceeded everyone’s expectations.

My tips for people traveling to North Captiva for the first time would include:
1. Have a plan for your meals.
The kitchen at Green Tortuga has pretty much all the equipment you will need if you want to cook in (or bbq). You can order groceries through a service but you’ll pay a premium (of course) for the convenience. Next time I will arrive in Ft Myers earlier in the day so I have time to shop for groceries myself in either Cape Coral or Ft Myers and still make a scheduled ferry from Pine Island to North Captiva. I like to grocery shop and meal plan, so that’s not a chore for me. Just depends on whether you’re more interested in conserving your leisure time or your money.
2. You’ll want to get to the Pine Island ferry early enough to arrive on North Captiva in the daylight—mainly because it’s beautiful and you’ll get to enjoy the tropical wow factor on your approach. If your travel plans don’t allow you to make the last scheduled ferry, you’ll pay a premium for a private water taxi.

No matter how you get here, you’ll be glad you did! Such a friendly, relaxing, quiet slice of paradise.
